SUMMARY:  Safely operates student transportation vehicle in a safe and careful manner, transferring students to and from school, school activities, and provide shuttle services as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise children getting on and off the bus as well as while in transit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least 21 years of age.
  2. Possess a valid Class B, CDL Missouri driver’s license with School bus endorsement.
  3. Complete an annual physical examination by a licensed Doctor of Medicine within 60

    days prior to the date of employment.  Applicants with previous heart related conditions will not be considered for employment.

  1. Prefer minimum of two years’ driving experience.
  2. Successfully completed the Missouri Certified Bus Drivers Training Program.
  3. Have a safe driving record.
  4. No addiction to the use of alcohol or narcotic drugs; random drug testing will occur.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have a high school diploma or GED.  Minimum two years driving experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CPR and first aid certification is mandatory and will be provided by employer.  Each bus driver will be required to have an annual physical exam that meets all health requirements for driving.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Recommended for employment by the Assistant Superintendent.  Nine Month Year (172 days), Salary in accordance with board policy and contract.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by Director of Transportation and Assistant Superintendent.
