SUMMARY: The Transportation Mechanic will maintain the District’s student transportation fleet in a safe and functional manner. The work is performed in compliance with established maintenance practices and policies. The employee is expected to resolve problems independently.  This employee performs complex duties in the operation, repair and maintenance of the vehicles in the school transportation program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must possess a High School Diploma and 1 to 2 years of training or experience in repair and maintenance of automotive equipment; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid class B Missouri drivers license with passenger endorsement and other qualifications determined by the Board of Education.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education’s Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Twelve-month employee.  Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
